Learn About Fouchy

Fouchy came into being early during the COVID-19 Pandemic when it became apparent that the only sane, reasonable and reliable person with information about how to navigate our world was Dr. Anthony Fauci.

Disclaimer – Dr. Anthony Fauci has no association with this website or my products or activities. I do not know Dr. Fauci.

History of Fouchy

Just before the pandemic I had found my way to the world of modular synthesizers, especially the Eurorack form factor. I had an interest in sound and synthesis for many years, but had never followed through on it for various reasons including time, expense and many other pursuits.

Anyway, in late 2019 – early 2020 I was researching how to generate and sample natural sounds when I came across a series on YouTube called “Modular In A Week” by Kristian Blåsol. Seeing as I am an electrical engineer I figured I could DIY some modules as well as the next guy, so started building along with his video series. I left off his series after a while and have headed out into the wilderness of DIY modular design, development, building, and selling.

A short musical Biography of Dan DeLuca

Dan DeLuca started his musical career playing saxophones in various jazz bands. After moving to Atlanta, Georgia, he crossed over to playing “Southern Punk”, experimental and free jazz in the bands “No Exit,” “The Psychotic Redundants,” and “Marilyn Monroe and the Supper Club,” along with Steven Beach, Finnean, and the Hardy Brothers.

Moving to Chicago he played saxophone in various combos and participated in a variety of seminars led by George Lewis, given by the (then) fledgling Experimental Sound Studio. It was here that he met Joseph Fosco and began studying sound design with electronics.

In 2020 DeLuca turned his full attention to experimental electronic music, building modular synthesizers and playing with various musicians. He currently resides in the Baltimore area and releases music under the pseudonym “Fouchy Modular.”

Fouchy’s Hopes For The Future

I hope you watch my videos and visit my store. My modules are mostly analog designs using through-hole parts to make them easy to build.

Thank you for visiting.
